Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is a great way to receive personalized support and space to address challenges in-depth.

My sessions are online and are typically about an hour once every one or two weeks. I collaborate with clients if more or less time is needed based on specific needs with therapy. Clients must be located in Texas during their session.

Fee: $180 for 45-60 minutes, $150 for 30-45 minutes, $100 up to 30 minutes

Payment: Debit, credit, or HSA card, and similar via a client portal. Charged after the session is completed.

Insurance reimbursement: I can provide a superbill after each session if clients would like to submit this to their insurer for reimbursement based on their out-of-network benefits. I recommend contacting your insurance for more information.

Walk-and-talk therapy

These sessions outside in nature are offered for established clients local to the NW Austin, TX area.

I provide additional information before a walk-and-talk therapy session is scheduled.

Fee: Same as individual therapy with an added $20 fee.

Payment: Debit, credit, HSA card, and similar via a client portal. HSA cards, and similar cannot be used for the added fee if seeking insurance reimbursement.

Insurance reimbursement: If requested in advance of payment, a superbill can be provided without the service fee included.

The fee for individual therapy pays for more than just the time in your session.

Flexible Scheduling

I prioritize active clients with scheduling sessions, and can typically accommodate a time that works within a week of your request.

Companion in healthcare and well-being

Therapy is unique in healthcare in that we have about a full hour to meet per session typically occurring once a week or once every two weeks over the course of months or even years depending on how necessary our work together is with your mental well-being. This provides plenty of room to explore and adapt together. As a clinical social worker with advanced training in psychotherapy, I bring a broad lens to our work together, considering psychobiological (psychological, biological, and social) factors that shape your experience. You are invited to bring in anything in a session that feels important for your mental health even when it may not, at first glance, connect with your reasons for therapy initially or with previous sessions. If we find more specialized care is needed, I provide clients with referrals.

Therapy Letters
Mental health accommodation letters within my scope such as for work or for your place of residence are i
ncluded at no cost with a therapy appointment that assesses the necessity and purpose of this letter.

Support Between Sessions

With your consent due to privacy risks with written forms of communication, I’m available for messaging during typical business hours. This includes information that supports your therapy process such as your reflections or additional resources or recommendations, or handling any billing-related concerns that come up so financial stress does not complicate our sessions. If we find that this requires more than 30 minutes of time between appointments, I’ll offer the option to move up our next session.

Building Your Support System

Sometimes, bringing in a partner or family member to a session can significantly improve support outside of therapy. This is optional and the focus remains on your well-being. If we determine that the relationship is in conflict with your individual needs, I may refer you to a provider who specializes in couples or family therapy to fully navigate this complexity. In the past, I've also noticed loved ones, after getting a sense of what therapy is like, may also find motivation to receive individual therapy (with a different provider) which can improve the support they can provide.

Improved Access for Continuity of Care

Should you decide to discontinue and restart, you may reach out directly via my @mindfulscape email and skip consultation. I tend to keep some flexibility in my schedule for returning clients. In some cases based on my capacity and your reason for returning, I may provide other options for continuity of care.

Protection against surprise medical billing. Overview by cms.gov

I inform clients of the cost of therapy before starting, and discuss and provide notice of increased rates at least a year in advance, but this may be a shorter time if clients do not meet consistently. Typically surprises occur if clients use insurance in-network or depend on out-of-network reimbursement. This is best prevented by staying in contact with their insurer directly to stay updated on your specific benefits.
